that book looks really interesting. i would quickly comment that curating a list of these experiential projects doesn't seem like a strong thesis proposal. but the research seems like a strong start towards proposing your own urban intervention in the same vein. it could be an interactive art project, social photography excursion, a data gathering exercise and visualization or even a more traditional architectural project. but i see the point of the thesis is to gather all of these ideas and to respond to them through your own work or with your own ideas. that seems like the exciting part to me. but, lets see if i even end up doing a thesis, which is looking less possible each day...

oh and no, it isn't a waste of time looking at those books. the more precedents/projects you know about, the better you're able to situate your own ideas/projects within those preexisting ideas. i wish i still had rotch this semester.

that lorna jordan project is quite impressive. this semester i've been looking to a lot of landscape remediation projects that not only are about environmental cleanup but promote participating in that experience, or at least making the process visible. i think it will end up being an important concept in whatever the studio project i'm working on turns out to be. barring the new age spaces and gaudi tiling the lorna jordan looks like an enjoyable place to walk through. wetlands are always appreciated. in a sense it also reminds me of the duisberg nord landscape park by peter latz + partners (http://www.landschaftspark.de/de/home/index.php) that reclaims an old industrial park in far west germany. check flickr also for more photos. it isn't as functional as the project you cite, but i think it is visually one of most successful renovations of a brownfield i have seen. i really want to take a day trip there. i also think of jones and jones, an architecture/planning office in seattle that does lots of cool projects centered on conservation and ecosystems (http://jonesandjones.com/#). these types of projects are always needed but i would find it very hard to propose a convincing project that is similar because i know quite little about landscape architecture and even less about wetlands biology. but thanks for the link to this cool park!

Hi

I came across your site while digging around the Internet. I'm not sure if you ever use router bits, but I would be willing to send you a free carbide-tipped router bit set (shipped at no charge), if you will add a link to www.woodshopbits.com on your website.

You can find more information about the set at:

http://www.woodshopbits.com/woodshopbits-special-9piece-router-bit-set-p-211.html?zenid=b97010ef06ea4abcf99d42f1d64e8930

To get the set, do the following:

1) Add the following snippet of HTML code to this page of your site --> {{ specific_url }}:

<a href="http://www.woodshopbits.com/" rel="nofollow">router bits</a>

It does not matter how noticeable the link is on your page, as long as it is visible. For example, you may put a small "router bits" link at the foot of your page that points to wwww.woodshopbits.com. Please be sure and use "router bits" in the link text.

2) Reply to this email the following information:

-	URL of the page where you placed the link
-	Your mailing address

3) Wait for your router bit set to arrive. I'll cover shipping. So there is no charge to you.

Thanks for your consideration. Happy woodworking!

Hello!

I randomly found your blog as I was searching for DIS related stuff. I'm an architecture major planning to do DIS for Spring 2010. Since I'm from california, I'm really worried about one thing: the lack of sunlight during january and february. How was your experience in regards to the sunlight? I'm afraid I'm going to get depressed...

Hi,

We are in the process of launching a small website dedicated to design videos (http://designvideos.org) and were wondering if you could help us in suggesting some links to videos related to architectural design and graphic design.
